The appalling situation in Ukraine, a sovereign state which has been invaded, is also a challenge to all of us in Europe, and indeed the world. Statements of support have been issued by a wide range of national governments and organizations: in particular we would commend that by the Young Academy of Scotland, noting that Scotland’s universities have already begun to take what action they can to protect their own students and to facilitate study for new entrants affected by the crisis. Along with our members across Scotland and with our connections throughout the world, SAHA stands in solidarity with Ukraine.

In addition, SAHA will work to ensure that the full range of insights from across arts and humanities disciplines can be drawn on and brought to bear to enrich public understanding and contribute constructively and collaboratively with all those in government and civil society across Scotland and beyond, as they seek to address this terrible crisis.
